“Fabrication of an Overdenture Bar”
By Mike Di Paulo, CDT
Overdenture bars offer patients one of the best ways to stabilize a denture. However, these bars have always been a challenge for the dental laboratory. To ensure success, these overdenture bars must have a passive fit and ultimate precision, and this can be difficult using traditional laboratory procedures. This presentation will discuss the complete laboratory process, various types of bars, and how they can be accurately fabricated using new CAD/CAM technology. You will learn how this new technology takes away the guess work, and the risk of processing an overdenture bar.

“GC Initial I.Q. One Body Concept: The Fusion of Esthetics and Production”
By Rick Sonntag, RDT
In 2006, GC introduced the IQ One-Body System, a "Press-To" porcelain system that gave technicians the freedom to create highly esthetic restorations without the need for time consuming cutback and layering. In 2009, GC took the One-Body concept one step further by introducing the One-Body Layering Over Metal set, a porcelain system that allows users to create the same esthetic restorations as I.Q Press-To but in powder form for conventional layering. This "ECON" concept is designed for efficiency by eliminating the need for multiple powders to achieve life-like results, speeding up production without sacrificing quality.
In this lecture, Rick Sonntag, RDT will demonstrate the simplicity of the system is as well as showing the esthetic potential of the One-Body system. Attendees will also see the flexibility of the system that can be adapted to conventional layering techniques, micro-layering techniques, or internal stain techniques.
