Ivoclar Vivadent Introduces Telio®
Temporary Restorative Material Offers Solutions for Dentists, CAD/CAM Users, and Dental Technicians
Amherst, NY -Ivoclar Vivadent, Inc. announces the introduction of Telio®, a newly developed system of temporary restorative solutions for dentists, CAD/CAM users, and dental technicians. Featuring three lines of materials developed for shade and material compatibility-Telio CS, Telio CAD and Telio Lab-the Telio system addresses the needs of dentists and dental technicians for products that enable them to work together more cooperatively. Because the chairside and labside products are compatible, Telio enables exceptional collaboration between dentists and dental technicians across all phases of treatment.
For chairside applications, Telio CS includes Telio CS C&B, a self-curing temporary crown and bridge material; Telio CS Link, a dual-curing, eugenol-free luting composite; and Telio CS Desensitizer. Telio CS C&B also facilitates easy fabrication of inlays, onlays, and veneers, demonstrates outstanding mechanical properties, and is the ideal relining material for temporary restorations fabricated from Telio CAD and Telio Lab materials.
Telio CAD acrylate polymer blocks can be used to fabricate long-term temporary crowns and bridges using CAD/CAM technology. Additionally, Telio CAD eliminates the challenges associated with traditional temporization processes, such as polymerization shrinkage, impression errors, mixing errors, and clean up. With its high flexural strength and flexural modulus, Telio CAD restorations are wearable for up to 12 months. As a result, Telio CAD isconsidered an ideal temporary restorative material for implants and other clinical situations requiring long-term temporary placement.
Telio Lab features a cold curing powder/liquid resin system that can be layered to create a broad range of shades, internal characterizations, and incisal effects. Using the cut-back technique, Telio Lab LC (Light Curing) components can be applied to customize temporary crowns and bridges.

Scandex Announces New Dental Division
Boston and Newton, MA-Scandex, LLC, one of the largest providers of Swedish ergonomic chairs and stools in the U.S. and Canada, has recently launched a new Dental Division to cater to the unique seating requirements of dentists, hygienists, lab technicians and dental office staff.
According to Posturedontics.com, “Two out of three dental team members experience chronic pain.” Practitioners in dentistry who work all day long in a sitting position require a chair with superb back/lumbar support to help minimize lower back problems and reduce the potential for musculoskeletal disorders.
Scandex Swedish ergonomic chairs and stools are designed for proper seating so the lumbar is supported and the spine maintains the proper “S” position. The most popular seating for dental practitioners are the Bruno Ergonomic Office Chair, Series 300 and the Björn Ergonomic Saddle Stool, Series 400/600. Both automatically seat a dentist or hygienist in a correct posture and positions him/her nearer to the patient which reduces overall strain on the back, shoulders and neck muscles.
“Good posture relieves tension in the back, shoulders, neck, in the whole body - which in turn aids breathing, digestion and circulation,” explained Sven Emilsson, Director of Sales at Scandex.
He continued, “The demand for our Swedish ergonomic seating has increased significantly within the dental industry, so much so that we have developed a new division to cater to their specific needs.”
Dental Practitioners Can “Build” their own Ergonomic Chair
Scandex recently launched the second generation of their website, http://www.scandex.us which provides dentist, hygienists and assistants with a Selection Guide that provides guidelines for utilization of Scandex’s Swedish ergonomic chairs and stools in various settings. Individual sections on the website for types of arm supports, upholstery, cleaning and care allow the dental practitioners to “build” their own chair to preference. Dental practitioners may also take advantage of Scandex’s special “Rent-A-Chair” option.
