On or after July 1, 2010 Chapter 466, Florida Statues, was amended for dental laboratories:

Each registered dental laboratory owner/operator or a designated employee must complete 18 hours of continuing education (CE) biennially. The owner/operator or agent as listed on the registration has the responsibility to ensure that the CE provider has submitted or the owner has self-submitted course completion information within the CE tracking system in accordance with rule Chapter 64B-5, F.A.C. The records retained by the laboratory to document completion of the required CE shall either include evidence that the owner/operator completed the course hours or that the course hours were completed by a designated employee who worked at the laboratory for at least one full year during the biennium as documented by time cards, pay stubs, or federal W-2 forms.

Hi-Tec Dental Products, Inc held it’s 3rd annual Hi-Tec Dental Rally & Conference. Technicians and Dentists from across the US traveled to beautiful  Knoxville, Tennessee for this 3 day event.   Participating in the event was Dr. Neil Collins who rode on his motorcycle from South Texas earning him the prestigious “Iron Butt Award” for the longest distanced traveled by bike to attend.   Tom Bohlen, a lab owner from Champaign, Illinois stated, “ this is the most unique learning venue for both Doctor and Lab Technicians alike.” “Whether you ride or not, the Rally shouldn’t be missed.”   Several attendees jumped aboard the Hi-Tec Party buses for a night on the town,  and also braved the heights of the Smoky Mountains taking in an awesome Zip-Line Excursion.  The Rally was highlighted by the music of the Marshall Tucker Band which was attended by over 1,600 people.
